Walter was organising during many years member of the organizing-committees of worldclass ski events such as Alpine Ski World Championships (1987), World Cup finals (1992) and many World Cup ski races. He has cooperated at the OMEGA European Golf Masters tournament in Crans-Montana, and at many other events, as well at some bids to host the Olympic Wintergames in Switzerland. He was also project Manager at some Olympic Games, like in 2008 in Beijing.
